Bryan Johnson is an extremely talented lifestyle and wedding photographer from Birmingham, Alabama. Bryan’s wedding portfolio caught my eye long before I had the opportunity to collaborate with him and his team. I first found his work back when I was an aspiring photographer and am not ashamed to say that I would visit his portfolio site on a daily basis. I immediately fell in love with his work. With a newly developed identity created by David Blumberg, the task at hand was to use Squarespace to create a website template that was unrecognizable of any default template offered. The site also needed to utilize the new brand elements, adapt easily to new content, as well as tie in with Bryan’s wedding portfolio site, A Bryan Photo.
So, with a general idea of how the site needed to function, we started with a template and stripped it of its "default" feel, then rebuilt the components from scratch. Bryan's work speaks for itself, so keeping the focus on the work was very important. Utilizing a strong grid structure helped keep the work organized and at the forefront.
In the end, Bryan and his team were overjoyed with the final site layout and continue to maintain the functionality of the site.
